The Wergensee is a lake near Rietz-Neuendorf in the Oder-Spree district in the country Brandenburg . It is about 13 hectares and 0.530 kilometers long. Its widest point is 430 meters.

Wildlife

The lake is described as rich in fish. There are found all the important Central European species of fish in the lake, such as bream (sea bream), roach , rudd , tench , bream , perch , pike-perch , pike , catfish and eels . The pond frog should be mentioned as the main representative of the amphibian. Grass snakes are common. The most common waterfowl are Bless Coot and grebes found.

Special

After the opening of the Oder-Spree Canal in 1891, the Neuhaus pumping station was built in 1892 . By means of this pumping station, water is pumped from the Wergensee into the top of the Oder-Spree Canal via the Neuhauser feed canal.
