Werner Baumüller
Werner Baumüller (born December 20, 1956 in Kollerschlag , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian art manager and book author.
Life
After graduating from the BORG high school in Linz , Werner Baumüller attended the professional school for commercial advertising in Vienna. He then worked for a year as a copywriter (also copywriter) in agencies in Vienna. This was followed by a five-year stay in Düsseldorf, which he describes as his years of apprenticeship in the copywriting profession . Back in Vienna, he worked in two agencies before he started his own business as a freelance copywriter and worked for Viennese agencies. His slogan "It's damn hard to be the best" promoted the Merkur (Austria) markets for around 25 years .
In 1985 he founded the Kollerschlag workshop with his brothers Heinz and Wolfgang Baumüller . In the following years he gradually dropped out of advertising altogether.
The Kollerschlag workshop acts as an organizational hub for the conception, planning and execution of art projects. The works from the Kollerschlag workshop include the 21.5 m high “ Hammering Man ” by Jonathan Borofsky in Frankfurt, Jeff Koons ' Puppy, which temporarily stood in front of Arolsen Castle, and the 8.5 m high “Daily Bread” by Tony Cragg in Wr. Neustadt, the “Cythera” by Ian Hamilton Finlay at the Metropolis exhibition in Berlin and Vienna, the memorial for the Austrian Jewish victims of the Shoah by Rachel Whiteread , and the Alban Berg memorial by Wolf D. Prix in front of the State Opera.
