Neuer Hagen Padberg nature reserve
The Neuer Hagen Padberg nature reserve with a size of 5.5 hectares is located west of Padberg in the urban area of Marsberg in the Hochsauerlandkreis . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2001 with the Hoppecketal landscape plan .
Area description
The NSG is a red beech forest with rocky areas on the Neuer Hagen mountain. Restored foundation stone builders of a castle complex lie on the hilltop.
Protection purpose
The NSG is intended to protect the species-rich forest area there. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
