The nature reserve Vor dem Priesterberg with a size of 8.31 hectares is located north of Giershagen in the urban area of Marsberg in the Hochsauerlandkreis . In the west is the nature reserve Bredelarer Kammer / Fürstenberger Wald and in the east the nature reserve open spaces around Giershagen .

The NSG comprises grassland, poor cattle pastures and field trees. In the grassland there are areas with partially extensively used grasslands . The woods are rich in species and reflect the typical combination of species of the woodruff beech forests. The south-eastern part of the area is occupied by a poor and flowery pasture sloping to the south.
