Bellergrund nature reserve

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The nature reserve Bellergrund with a size of 19.9 hectares is located northeast of Padberg in the urban area of Marsberg in the Hochsauerlandkreis . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2001 with the Hoppecketal landscape plan . The NSG consists of two areas.

Area description

The NSG is the larger eastern area of two grassland valleys north and east of the Kriesenberg . A grassland connecting area between these valleys is also part of the NSG. The grassland is predominantly fertilized pastures or mowing pastures. Lean and species-rich grassland areas are interspersed on shallow sites. In the north-western area there are fallow land z. T. of hawthorn and sloe bushes are overgrown. In the north there is a poor pasture with wet fallow land. This area continues to the south within a flat basin as a rush-rich, narrow wet pasture.

The second smaller grassland area with limestone semi-dry lawn is on Galgenberg near the village of Padberg.

Protection purpose

The NSG is intended to protect the species-rich grassland there. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
