Nature reserve An der Kleppwiese

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The nature reserve An der Kleppwiese with a size of 2.52  hectares is located south of Canstein in the urban area of Marsberg in the Hochsauerlandkreis . It was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) in 2008 with the Marsberg landscape plan .

description

The NSG comprises limestone grasslands with large areas of bushes . The limestone grasslands are largely overgrown. A wood bar separates the grassland into a western and an eastern part. The western area on the upper slope is rockier and has many juniper bushes. Both parts, however, have a limestone semi-arid grassland vegetation that is typical of society, with the corresponding species-rich flora that contains many rare and endangered species. A cattle pasture was included in the southern part of the NSG. It is interspersed with rocks. To the north, the semi-arid lawn merges into a wood that most likely emerged from coppice forest use and is dominated by strong, almost entirely multi-stemmed hornbeams. It is crossed by a bottom mold, which apparently a former ravine features. A broad, south-east exposed forest mantle made up of different types of shrub has developed between woody trees and semi-arid grassland.
