from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Lange Wiese nature reserve with a size of 40.2 hectares is located east of Bredelar in the urban area of Marsberg in the Hochsauerlandkreis . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2001 with the Hoppecketal landscape plan . The NSG is partly part of the FFH area of the Diemel and Hoppecke water system (DE 4617-302).

Area description

The NSG is the Hoppecke river with its undeveloped floodplain in this area.

Protection purpose

The NSG is supposed to protect the Hoppecke and its floodplain. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
