Emmese nature reserve
The nature reserve Emmese with a size of 76.66 hectares is located northwest of Leitmar in the urban area of Marsberg in the North Rhine-Westphalian Hochsauerlandkreis in Germany .
history
The protected area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) in the Marsberg landscape plan in 2008 . Since 2004 the NSG has been one of three sub-areas of the Fauna-Flora-Habitat Area (FFH) Leitmarer Felsen (Natura 2000-Nr. DE-4519-306) in the European system of protected areas according to Natura 2000 with a size of 588 ha of the FFH area are the Hengesberg nature reserve and the Leitmarer Felsen nature reserve . The NSG borders directly on Landstrasse 549 in the west.

Limestone forms the subsurface of the NSG . The NSG includes a beech forest . In the NSG there are up to ten meters high rocks and block debris as well as relics of the copper mining that operated until the beginning of the 19th century .
