Schafbruch Nature Reserve

The Schafbruch nature reserve with a size of 1.6  ha is located west of Bredelar in the urban area of Marsberg in the Hochsauerlandkreis . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2001 with the Hoppecketal landscape plan .

Area description

The NSG is an alluvial forest area , which mainly consists of black alder .

Protection purpose

The NSG is supposed to protect the local forest. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
