Werner Friedrich von Puttkamer

Werner Friedrich von Puttkamer (* before 1712; † 1771 ) was a royal Prussian colonel, chief of garrison regiment No. 1 and commander of the Memel fortress .

He came into Prussian service in 1712 and took part in the siege of Stralsund during the Pomeranian campaign in 1715/1716 . In 1727 he became Premier Lieutenant in Infantry Regiment No. 17 (Brünneck). There he became a captain in 1740. He fought in the First Silesian War and took part in the conquest of Glogau, Ramslau, Teschen and the Jablunka. In 1741 he fought in the battle of Mollwitz and in 1742 at Chotusitz .

In the Second Silesian War in 1744 he was in the siege of Prague, the battles at Hohenfriedberg and Soor and the battle at Habelschwerdt . In 1747 he received the Pour le Mérite .

In 1750 he became a major. In June 1751 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel, and in May 1756 he became colonel. In 1757 he received the No. 1 garrison regiment and became the commander of Memel. During the Seven Years' War he fought against the Russians under General Field Marshal Johann von Lehwaldt .

He was married to a born von Böhm .
