Werner Gross (born December 26, 1949 in Rödermark ) is a German psychologist , psychotherapist , supervisor , coach , business and organizational consultant and author.

Life

Werner Gross completed his Abitur in 1968 at the Goethe-Gymnasium in Dieburg . He completed his psychology studies at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main in 1979. His studies were followed by an apprenticeship as a psychological psychotherapist, due to which he received his license to practice medicine and health insurance approval for psychotherapy based on depth psychology in 1999 . In addition to this form of therapy, he also uses other methods, including psychodrama , gestalt therapy , body psychotherapy and positive psychotherapy .

He has been running a psychological practice in Offenbach am Main since 1979 , where he and colleagues founded the Psychological Forum Offenbach (PFO) in 1999. He has been working as a supervisor, coach and management consultant since 1985 and was among other things a member of the “Supervision and Coaching Project Group” in the Professional Association of German Psychologists (BDP). Since 2015 he has also been working in his second practice facility in Gelnhausen.

He is a lecturer at the Universities of Mainz and Frankfurt am Main as well as at various training institutes for psychotherapists, e.g. B. Wiesbaden Academy for Psychotherapy (WIAP), German Academy of Psychology (DPA), AFKV-Gelsenkirchen, Center for Integrative Psychotherapy (CIP). He was an expert on the Bundestag commission of inquiry “So-called sects and psychogroups” and press spokesman for the BDP (until 1999). Since 1983 he has led more than 300 seminars on professional studies, business start-ups and livelihood security for psychologists.

In 1973 he began to work as a journalist for broadcasters. For this he received the ARD Kurt Magnus Prize in 1977 .

He is best known for his preoccupation with the subject of "addiction without drugs" (non- substance-related forms of addiction ), for which he published a book of the same name in 1990. On the subject of "emotional costs of career", which also contributed to his fame, he has published four books so far ("... but not at any price", "Career 2010", "Career 2000" and "Career (s) in the." Crisis").
