Werner Hofmann (Illustrator)
Werner Hofmann (born October 11, 1935 in Zug ; † October 27, 2005 in Lucerne ) was a Swiss graphic artist .
Hofmann lived in Lucerne and worked as a freelance illustrator and wood cutter as well as a teacher at the Lucerne School of Design since 1961 . His work is influenced by stays in Italy , France , Finland , Spain and New York . He created illustrations for works of world literature by George Moore , James Joyce , William Faulkner , Aleksis Kivi and Anton Chekhov . In 1962 Hofmann received the recognition award from the City of Lucerne's Art and Culture Prize .
