Werner Jetter

Werner Jetter (born February 4, 1913 in Schorndorf ; † July 19, 2004 ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran theologian.

Jetter studied Protestant theology in Tübingen from 1931 to 1935 and then worked in various positions in the service of the Evangelical Church in Württemberg . From 1952 Jetter worked as a pastor in Stuttgart at the Memorial Church, the new building of which was built under his direction. In 1952 he was in Tübingen with the investigation studies the history of the Church's doctrine of baptism by Augustine to the young Luther to Dr. theol. PhD. In 1961 he was appointed as the successor to Karl Fezer to the professorship for practical theology at the University of Tübingen , where he taught until his retirement in 1978. He also worked as an early preacher at the Tübingen collegiate church from 1961 and 1978 .
