Werner Klein (born September 25, 1914 in Grenzhausen ; † November 18, 1964 in Höhr-Grenzhausen ) was a German entrepreneur and politician ( FDP ).

Life

Klein attended elementary school until 1924, then switched to middle school and graduated from secondary school in Wuppertal-Barmen in 1933 . After that he did Reich Labor Service and worked full-time as a field sports teacher and young people leader . He joined the Wehrmacht as a professional soldier in 1936 , was promoted to officer in 1938 and took part in World War II after the outbreak of war , most recently as captain of the air intelligence force . At the end of the war he was taken prisoner, from which he was released at the end of 1945.

After being released from captivity, Klein completed technical and commercial training from 1946 to 1949. He then worked in his parents' agricultural machinery company in Höhr-Grenzhausen, in which he became a co-owner in 1952. In addition to his professional activity, he was chairman of the Agricultural Machinery Association Rhineland-Rheinhessen.

Klein joined the FDP in 1949 and was elected district chairman of the Liberals in the Unterwesterwaldkreis in 1954. From 1952 he was a member of the city council and from 1956 an alderman of the city of Höhr-Grenzhausen. In the district assembly of the Unterwesterwaldkreis, to which he had belonged since 1952, he was chairman of the FDP parliamentary group. From April 9, 1954 until his resignation on April 25, 1955 and from January 5, 1959 until the end of the third legislative period, he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament . Both times he had moved up for the resigned MP Wilhelm Nowack on a list of the FDP in the state parliament.
