Werner Levi

Werner Levi (born March 23, 1912 in Halberstadt ; † February 6, 2005 in Hawaii ) was an American political scientist of German origin.

Life

Levi received his doctorate in law from the University of Friborg in Switzerland in 1934 . He and his wife fled from National Socialist Germany to Great Britain and then in 1940 to the USA , where he received two more doctorates on a scholarship. From 1944 to 1963 he taught political science and international law at the University of Minnesota and from 1963 until his retirement in 1977 at the University of Hawaii .
