Werner Liebrecht (politician)

Werner Liebrecht (born February 21, 1936 in Danzig ; † August 22, 2011 ) was a German civil engineer and politician ( SPD ).

Life

Liebrecht attended secondary school, completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer from 1954 to 1957 and studied at the state building trade school in Eckernförde . There he passed his exam as an engineer specializing in civil engineering in 1961 . First he worked in Kiel for a construction company and from 1962 worked in the administration of the city of Husum , where he headed the city drainage and city cleaning department. He began his political career in 1965 as a member of the Husum district board of the Young Socialists , of which he was district chairman from 1966 to 1969. From 1969 he was chairman of the Husum SPD local association. Liebrecht belonged to the district council of the Husum district from 1966 to 1970, after it was merged with the districts of Eiderstedt and Südtondern to form the new district of North Friesland , he was a member of the North Friesland district until 1974.

1971 Liebrecht was the SPD land list in the state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein selected. In the eighth , ninth and tenth electoral terms he also entered the state parliament via the state list. Liebrecht was a member of the state parliament until 1987 and was a member of a number of committees, including the Interior Committee, the State Planning Committee and the Schoenberg Landfill Investigation Committee . From 1980 to 1987 he was a member of the Parliamentary Control Commission.

After his career as a state politician, Liebrecht was released from staff member at his original employer, the city of Husum. He held this position until he retired. From 2009 until his death, Liebrecht was again involved as an assessor in the Husum local association committee of the SPD and, among other things, pushed ahead with the renovation of the historic old town hall.
