Werner Michelbach (born March 23, 1951 ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper .

Career

After the 1968/69 season in the A-youth of 1. FC Kaiserslautern Werner Michelbach first moved to FK Clausen in the 2. Amateur League West Palatinate. With the FKC he rose in the first year to the 1st Amateur League Southwest, where he was still active with his club until 1971.

In 1971 he went back to FCK, where he was the goalkeeper of the FCK amateurs in the 1st amateur league. He was one of the team that lost 1-0 in the 1973 final of the German Amateur Championship of SpVgg Bad Homburg .

Werner Michelbach was in the professional squad of 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the 1972/73 season and played his first and only Bundesliga game on January 20, 1973, when he came on in the 59th minute of the game against Wuppertaler SV for goalkeeper Sepp Stabel .

Others

His son Jens (* 1981), also a goalkeeper, also played for FCK and has made a number of regional league appearances in the goal of the Lauterer amateurs.
