Werner Perlinger

Werner Perlinger (* 1942 in Chammünster ) is a German author and local history researcher who deals with the history of places in the Altland district of Cham .

Life

Perlinger has lived in Furth im Wald since he was eight . After graduating from high school and a short legal interlude, he turned to the profession of journalist and worked for Bayerwald-Echo .

In 1985, the then 43-year-old moved to the city administration of Furth im Wald, where he has been the city ​​archivist ever since . In 2007 he was retired. Since then, he has been taking care of the municipal archives on a voluntary basis and is committed to the Altland district of Cham as a volunteer district archivist. He is also active on the board of the historical association for Furth im Wald und Umgebung eV.

Since moving to the public service in the mid-1980s, he has written numerous local history accounts to research the history of numerous places in the district, initially booklets for schools and holiday guests to Furth im Wald and Lichteneck Castle, as well as smaller articles in the “year books of the historical association for Furth im Wald und Umgebung ”, then articles in supra-local organs and magazines such as the“ Contributions to the history in the district of Cham ”, the“ Oberpfälzer Heimat ”,“ The Bavarian Forest ”,“ Beautiful Bavarian Forest ”and“ The Upper Palatinate ”, book projects on various Places in the district, including the three-volume book series “History of the City of Furth im Wald”.

In 2014 he was honored for his services with the culture award of the Upper Palatinate district . The laudation was given by Hans-Michael Körner , professor for history didactics at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .

Since 1965 he has been a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Vandalia Prague to Munich .
