Werner Rarrasch

Werner Rarrasch (born November 9, 1926 ; † before November 9, 1981 ) was a German soccer player who played 71 games with five goals for Viktoria Aschaffenburg in the Oberliga Süd . He died in 1981 at the age of 54.

career

Werner Rarrasch played the first games in the Oberliga Süd in the league season 1947/48. At the side of ex-national player Ernst Lehner he played 17 games for Viktoria and scored two goals. After moving to Sportfreunde Siegen - the winning countries took sixth place in the 1st State League Westphalia in 1951/52 - he was chosen by national coach Sepp Herberger as part of the team selection for the soccer tournament at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, for the German international match The amateur soccer team was invited to play against Austria on June 8, 1952 in Munich . In the 2-0 win, he was used in the second half. Rarrasch was not used in Helsinki, but was a substitute in the German squad.

Since Gelsenkirchen and Bielefeld applied for a license for the 2nd League West, Siegen represented Westphalia in the competition for the German amateur championship . In the group phase the Sportfreunde prevailed against Bergisch Gladbach, Sterkrade 06/07 and FC Neukölln and eliminated Heider SV with 3-1 goals in the semi-finals . The final turned into a feast day for Rarrasch and his teammates on June 25, 1955 in Wetzlar in front of 15,000 spectators due to an undisputed 5-0 win against SpVgg Bad Homburg . The two half-strikers Herbert Schäfer and Paul Haase celebrated top-class amateur football.

Now three more rounds followed in the Oberliga Süd at Viktoria Aschaffenburg. Together with his teammates Hans Neuschäfer , Rudolf Hoffmann and Egon Horst , Werner Rarrasch, who mostly acted as an outside runner, worked for the team from the Stadion am Schönbusch until 1958 and then ended his career as a contract footballer .

Trainer

In 1971 he worked successfully as a trainer for SSV Dillenburg .
