Werner Rosenberg (lawyer)

Werner Rosenberg (born April 19, 1859 in Ruhland , † 1930 ) was a German judge .

Life

Rosenberg received his doctorate. In 1881 he was sworn in. In 1888 he was appointed magistrate. In 1890 he became a public prosecutor and in 1897 a district judge. In 1899 he became a public prosecutor and in 1904 a district judge. In 1908 he was appointed higher regional judge. In 1912 he was promoted to regional court director.

In October 1915 he entered the Reichsgericht for the Reichsland Alsace-Lorraine . He was active in the 1st Criminal Senate of the Reich Court . He retired in mid-May 1927.

When indexing the "Jewish" legal literature, which began during National Socialism, Rosenberg was erroneously referred to as a Jew.

From the 13th edition (1913) to the 18th edition (1929) Rosenberg edited the comment on the code of criminal procedure founded by Ewald Löwe , the so-called "Löwe / Rosenberg", and was an employee of the Leipzig Commentary on the Criminal Code .
