The Founders Peaks are a group of steep peaks and ridges in the northwest of the Heritage Range , the southern part of the Antarctic Ellsworth Mountains . They are located immediately to the east of the Founders Escarpment , over which the eternal ice flows from the western highlands into the valleys of the Heritage Range. The Minnesota Glacier flows north of Founders Peaks, and the Gowan Glacier flows east .

In the western part of the Founders Peaks, the 7 km long rock ridge Smith Ridge extends north-south with the 1840  m high Pardue Peak and about 2 kilometers west of it the Frazier Ridge . The Webster Glacier flows north to the Minnesota Glacier between the 1720  m high Pipe Peak and the 1810  m high Matney Peak in the center of the Founders Peaks and the Frazier Ridge . In the east of the Founders Peaks there are the Reuther Nunatakkers , an approx. 7.5 km long series of Nunataks with the Welcome Nunatak to the north . To the south of it rises the 1910  m high summit of Windy Peak .

The Founders Peaks were mapped by the United States Geological Survey as part of the mapping of the Ellsworth Mountains in 1961-66 through field surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy . The US Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names gave the Founders Peaks ( German  founder Summit ), the number of geographical objects named in the Heritage Range related to the cultural heritage of the United States has.
