Werner Steinbach

Werner Steinbach (born May 14, 1919 in Chemnitz ; † February 28, 2005 ) was a German mechanical engineer and university professor.

Life

Steinbach studied civil engineering from 1950 to 1954. After four years as a structural engineer in steel construction, he moved to the Technical University of Berlin in 1958 . After receiving his doctorate in 1962, Werner Steinbach taught at the State Engineering School in Hanover. After his habilitation in 1965 at the Technical University of Hanover , he received a professorship there . Steinbach was the first rector of the Hanover University of Applied Sciences, which emerged from the engineering school (today Hanover University of Applied Sciences ). He held the office from 1972 to 1975. In 1983 he finished his work at the Hanover University of Applied Sciences.

Steinbach died on February 28, 2005 at the age of 85.
