Werner Thelen
Werner Thelen (born July 8, 1947 in Düren ) is a former German football player .
After the striker played in the amateur team of 1. FC Köln until 1969 , he was also used by the pros in the 1969/70 season, but was considered an amateur until the end of the season and as such played 17 amateur internationals for Germany . As early as 1970 against Great Britain he was used for the first time in the Olympic qualification for the DFB . In the same year he left 1. FC Cologne and switched to league competitor Werder Bremen . After a year it was clear that he would not be able to assert himself there in the long run and he went to Alemannia Aachen . In 1974 1. FC Kaiserslautern brought him back to the 1. Bundesliga from his former club 1. FC Saarbrücken ; however, it was only used twice there. In 1975/76 he played at FSV Frankfurt in the 2nd Bundesliga .
