Werner Weiß (born October 23, 1935 ) is a former German soccer player .

career

Werner Weiß came to Concordia Hamburg in the first-class soccer league north in the 1956/57 season via Buchholz 98 and Einigkeit Wilhelmsburg . When the league promoted from Marienthal he made his debut on September 30, 1956 in a 1: 2 home defeat against Eintracht Braunschweig in the league. "Cordi" appeared in the then usual World Cup system in the attack formation with Gustav-Adolf Rathmann , Weiß, Rolf Gronau , Günter Woitas and Günter Männelon. The black-reds finished 12th at the end of the round and the newcomer from Wilhelmsburg had played ten games with three goals. In his second season with "Cordi", 1957/58, he made 15 appearances with five goals and Concordia improved to sixth place under coach Hans Rohde .

For the 1958/59 season, White ran for VfL Osnabrück . Under coach Hellmut Meidt he was part of the regular line- up with 23 league appearances and seven goals. With teammates like goalkeeper Horst Borcherding , runner Erwin Türk and the attackers Walter Bensmann and Theo Schönhöft , VfL placed fourth in the Oberliga Nord. The "football wanderer" only stayed one season in the stadium at the Bremer Brücke and signed a new contract with Eintracht Braunschweig for the 1959/60 season . In the blue and yellow he did not play a major role under coach Kurt Baluses , he had to be content with 12 appearances and four goals in reaching eighth place. In his second round in Braunschweig, 1960/61, he was under coach Hermann Lindemann with 29 league games and eight goals in the team, which finished ninth.

In the summer of 1961 he moved from north to south Germany, he joined SSV Reutlingen in the football league south . Under coach Georg Wurzer and at the side of goalkeeper Karl Bögelein , however, he was not able to leave any special marks in his eight league appearances with one hit. After an unsatisfactory round, he moved to the Stuttgart Kickers for the 1962/63 season .

In the 1963/64 season, the defender played a total of 10 games for the Kickers in the Regionalliga Süd , the second highest German division at the time. In the 1964/65 season he is said to have had a regional league assignment at the relegated TSG Ulm 1846 .

Werner Weiß has a total of 97 league games and 27 goals, plus 11 regional league games.
