Werner Wittlich

Werner Wittlich (born April 4, 1946 in Kurtscheid ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and former member of the Bundestag. In 2004 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit for his services.

Life

Wittlich attended vocational school after successfully completing secondary school. He did an apprenticeship in the electrical trade, then he trained to become an electrician. He has been self-employed since 1972 and from 1986 to 2001 he was district master craftsman of the district of Neuwied , and from 2001 to 2004 chairman of the district master craftsman of the merged district craftsman's association Rhein-Westerwald. From November 23, 2009 to November 18, 2014 he was President of the Koblenz Chamber of Crafts.

In 1970 he joined the CDU, in 1976 he became chairman of the CDU community association in Rengsdorf . From 1979 he was a member of the Neuwied district council. From 1989 to 1998 he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament . After entering the Bundestag in 1998 via the Rhineland-Palatinate state list , he left the state parliament. He was a member of the Bundestag until 2005 and in the 16th legislative period as a replacement for the MP Ralf Göbel from March 1, 2009 until the end of the legislative period . On July 7, 2014, Wittlich was elected honorary alderman of the Neuwied district.

Honor

The state of Rhineland-Palatinate honored him in 2010 with the award of the Freiherr vom Stein plaque .
