Rengsdorf is a local community and a climatic health resort in the Neuwied district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It is the administrative seat of the community of Rengsdorf-Waldbreitbach , to which it also belongs.

The annual rainfall is 834 mm. The amount of precipitation is in the upper third of the values recorded in Germany. Lower values are registered at 69% of the measuring stations of the German Weather Service . The driest month is February, with the most rainfall in July. In July there is 1.7 times more rainfall than in February. The rainfall varies moderately. Lower seasonal fluctuations are recorded at 51% of the measuring stations .
history
The oldest document about Rengsdorf comes from the time when Theutgart was Archbishop of Trier (847–868). In this document, made around 857, the boundaries of the Rengsdorf parish district, which belonged to the Koblenz castor monastery , were described. Rengsdorf was recognized as a "climatic health resort" in 1963, but the tradition of health tourism goes back to the 19th century.
In March 1956, the Bundeswehr intelligence school was set up in the former "Rheinhöhe" hotel . She moved to Bad Ems in mid-October 1958 . In December 1959, a "radio company" moved into the building, which was later stationed as PSV Battalion 1 in Andernach .

Christian Robenek (CDU) became the local mayor of Rengsdorf on July 16, 2014. In the direct election on May 26, 2019, he was confirmed in his office for a further five years with a share of the vote of 75.70%. Christian Robenek's predecessor was Karlheinz Kleinmann, who held the office for 15 years.

The partnership with the municipality of Saint-Pierre-le-Moûtier , located in the French region of Burgundy, has existed since 2005.

Attractions
On Kaisereichenplatz is the 13 meter high Bismarck column , which was inaugurated in 1903 in honor of the first German Chancellor, Prince Otto von Bismarck (1815–1898).

Nationwide well-known companies are Lohmann & Rauscher , manufacturer of dressings and medical materials, as well as Berge & Meer (subsidiary of TUI Germany ), the pool operator monte mare and “meta GmbH & Co KG”, which sells partition wall systems internationally. Rengsdorf is the main and administrative headquarters for all four. The manufacturing companies Maschinenbau Runkel GmbH and Winkler and Dünnebier Süßwarenmaschinen GmbH are also located in Rengsdorf.
Rengsdorf is also the headquarters of FeMax Group Europe and its subsidiaries.
