Wernhard Möschel

Wernhard Möschel (born June 16, 1941 in Regensburg ) is a German legal scholar .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1961, Möschel studied law and economics at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster, the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the University of Geneva as a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation . In 1965 and 1969 he passed his legal state exams. In 1967 he was at Ernst-Joachim Mestmäcker at the University of Münster Dr. jur. PhD. His habilitation took place in 1972 at Bielefeld University .

From 1973 to 2009 he was a full professor for civil law, commercial and economic law, European law and comparative law at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen . In 1987/88 he was Visiting Professor at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, DC

He was a member a. a. of the Council for Research, Technology and Innovation at the Federal Chancellor (1995–1996), the Enquete Commission for New Media of the German Bundestag (1996–1998), the Scientific Advisory Council at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (since 1987), the Monopolies Commission and chairman of the Board of Trustees of the German Institute for Japanese Studies . From 1984 to 2012 Möschel was also a member of the Kronberger Kreis .

He has been a member of the New York Academy of Sciences since 1994 . From 2002 to 2010 he was Senator of the Leibniz Association .
