Wertislaw († in May or June 1164 ) was a son of the Obodriten prince Niklot and a brother of the Obodriten prince Pribislaw . After the death of her father Niklot, who fell in the fight against Duke Heinrich the Lions in 1160 , Heinrich took over the Land Werle and handed it over to Lubemar, Niklots' brother. From Pomerania, Wertislaw and his brother Pribislaw waged a guerrilla war against the new German feudal men of the Duke who were appointed by Heinrich the Lion in the Obodritenland and above all against the missionaries of the Christian faith.

In the winter of 1163, when Henry the Lion carried out a criminal campaign against the brothers, Wertislaw was captured by the Duke while defending Werle Castle . When Pribislaw again took action against Heinrich's feudal men in the Obodritenland in 1164, Henry the Lion struck back in the summer. While advancing against Pribislaw, he let Wertislaw hang on the Trostberg near Malchow .
