Wesley Korir (born November 15, 1982 ) is a Kenyan marathon runner and MP.

Korir graduated from the University of Louisville in 2008 and was part of their cross-country team. While on home leave, he got caught up in the unrest in Kenya in 2007/2008 , which he could only escape by fleeing to Uganda .

In 2008 he made his debut in the Chicago Marathon on the 42.195 km course. He crossed the finish line with the fourth best time of 2:13:53 h, but was not included in the awarding of the prize money because he did not start with the elite field, but with the people's runners , whose race began five minutes later. USATF's race referee Jim Estes therefore concluded that Korir had not competed in the same race as the elite. Race director Carey Pinkowski then announced that Korir would receive an undisclosed special payment as “recognition for an outstanding performance”.

In 2009 he set a course record in the Los Angeles Marathon with 2:08:24 h and came in sixth in Chicago. The following year he defended his title in Los Angeles, finished seventh in the Philadelphia Half Marathon and fourth in Chicago.

In 2011 he won the Carlsbad Half Marathon for the third time in a row , finished fourth in Los Angeles and second in Chicago. In 2012, fourth place in the New York City Half Marathon was followed by victory in the Boston Marathon .

In March 2013 Korir was elected to the Kenyan National Assembly.
