The Western River is a river in the southwest of the Australian state of Queensland .
geography
River course
The river rises northeast of the Forsyth Range and east of the Landsborough Highway at the settlement of Drumlion . It flows west, crosses under the highway at Dillcar and follows it into the town of Winton . From there it continues its course to the west, now along the Min Min Way , and flows west of Collingwood into the Diamantina River .
