Westfield is a village in the Scottish council area West Lothian . It is located in the west of West Lothian near the River Avon , which marks the border with the neighboring Council Area Falkirk . Bathgate is five kilometers to the southeast, while Falkirk is about nine kilometers to the northwest. The village is connected to the road network via a side road of the A801 between Bathgate and Grangemouth .

The village developed with a paper producing company. The North British Railway opened a station in Westfield in 1855. To the northwest, the route crosses the Avon Viaduct, which is listed in the highest Scottish monument category A. In 1967 the line was canceled and the station closed. In 1991 Westfield had a population of 770. This is an increase compared to the 476 inhabitants recorded ten years earlier.
