The Westhaven Nunatak is a striking nunatak of 2240 m height, which rises 5 km south of the Turnstile Ridge in the north-western part of the Britannia Range about 450 m high from the surrounding polar plateau .
The so-called Darwin Glacier Group of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958) set up a surveying station on the summit of Nunatak in December 1957. The name goes back to its discoverer, Squadron Leader John R. Claydon of the Royal New Zealand Air Force , who identified it as the westernmost rocky outcrop in this part of the Britannia Range.
