The Westiform Holding AG , based in Lungern is an international Swiss manufacturer of visual communication tools such as illuminated signs , signage systems , labels for corporate buildings and digital signage . Westiform also works as a general or total contractor in the corporate design sector. The group of companies employs more than 400 people and generated sales of 93 million Swiss francs in 2016. The top management has a 20 percent stake in the company. Westiform is one of the so-called hidden champions .
history
The family business emerged from a spin-off from the US Westinghouse . In Switzerland, Westinghouse began manufacturing high-voltage neon tubes in 1948 . In 1959, the Imfeld family took over the Neon department from Westinghouse and expanded it into Switzerland's leading illuminated advertising company.
In 1989 Westiform acquired the German company Boos & Hahn Licht-Form-Farbe GmbH & Co. KG , and in 2002 the German company Hoerner GmbH & Co KG was integrated . The international orientation of the Westiform Group was further strengthened with the establishment of additional production companies and the establishment of sales companies abroad. Today the group of companies is the European industry leader in illuminated advertising and has subsidiaries in Germany, France, the Czech Republic, Japan and China.
In 2015, Niklaus Imfeld (1940–2019), founder and main shareholder, handed the company over to the second generation of entrepreneurs. Since then, Anna Aebischer-Imfeld has been the President of the Board of Directors. She runs the company together with her brothers Markus Imfeld (CEO Westiform Group), Peter Imfeld (CFO Westiform Group) and Klaus Imfeld (CIO Westiform Group).
In 2017, the IT service company Equinoxe GmbH from Freiburg i. Br. Integrated into the Westiform Group and a digital signage competence center created for the Westiform Group.
