Coordinates: 50 ° 40 ′ 47.5 ″  N , 7 ° 8 ′ 57.5 ″  O The weather pillar in Bad Godesberg is the oldest weather pillar in Germany and has been back at the Draitschbrunnen , the previous location, since June 8, 2019. It stands as a monument under monument protection

The first weather pillar is considered to be the one erected in 1838 on Grand Quai (today's Quai du Général Guisan) in Geneva . The first pillar in Germany was set up in Bad Godesberg in 1876 by the Godesberg Beautification Association (VVG), the predecessor of today's Association for Home Care and Local History (VHH). The association had commissioned them from a craft business that has not been handed down. The column is a classical obelisk made of red sandstone on a square pedestal. On the front there are small instructions for the interpretation of the air pressure and as weather data an air pressure meter , a thermometer and a humidity meter are attached. The original instruments are no longer preserved.

The location of the column was initially the garden wall of the Redoute at that time . It should serve as an attraction for the spa guests . In 1904 the column was moved. The new location was on the left, from 1954 on the right of the stairs to the mineral bath at Mineralbrunnen in Brunnenallee 33. In 1954 it was first moved to the right side of the stairs and in 1955 to the back of the newly built town hall Bad Godesberg , and in 2019 it was moved back to the Draitschbrunnen.
