Wetting round

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Wettingrund (also Hüttengrund ) is located between the Freital districts of Weißig and Deuben . It begins south of the main road near Unterweißig and runs between the former heaps of the König-Georg-Schachtes and the stainless steel works Freital in an easterly direction down to Deuben.

Wettingrundbach

The Wettingrundbach or Hüttengrundbach rises between the two heaps and flows through the Wettingrund to the steel mill site. From there it was originally carried underground to the confluence with the Weißeritz . In the course of construction work for the new technology and start-up center and the redesign of the Neumarkt as well as flood protection in Neudöhlen , the stream was exposed from the railway line in 2013 and now flows on the surface past Neumarkt into the Weißeritz. In the open space between Neumarkt and Weißeritz, it was included in the design of a park, made accessible by stairs and provided with a bridge for pedestrians.

It used to be possible to get from Weißig to Deuben through the Wettingrund. Since the creation of mud ponds of the bismuth , the path ends there.

Buildings in the Wettingrund

Wettingrund forest recreation site, before 1914

In 1906 and 1907 the municipalities of Deuben and Döhlen bought a plot of land in Wettingrund for 6200 marks in order to build a hospital for the Plauen reason . The plans were not implemented because of the risk of subsidence from mining. A central hospital could only be built on Deubener Bürgerstrasse in the 1920s.

The "Forest Recreation Center Wettin reason" opened the house in 1909. was a popular postcard motif and was starting from 1921 as "Baumann orphanage used" without parents to care for children. During the Nazi dictatorship between May and August 1944, prisoners of war had to manufacture ammunition in the camp of the Wettingrund inn on behalf of the steelworks. After 1945 the forest recreation site served as a retirement home. In 1957 the building for the mud ponds was demolished.
