The Technology and Start-up Center Freital (TGF) is a building at Dresdner Straße 172 at the corner of Bahnhofstraße in the Freital district of Döhlen , which is both a technology park and a start-up center. It was the first of its kind in Saxony . The purpose of the park is to provide entrepreneurs with an area to set up and run their business. The building offers both office space and halls, e.g. B. for production or development.

history

The building complex was designed by Eberhard Pfau . The construction costs amounted to around 24 million euros, of which around 3 million euros were spent by the city itself. It is divided into the start-up center (F1) with an area of ​​10,000 m² and the 22,000 m² technology park (F2) on Lutherstrasse in Neudöhlen .

The Technologie- und Gründerzentrum Freital GmbH was founded in 2011. Mayor Klaus Mättig ( CDU ) handed over the funding decision on May 18, 2011 . Before construction began, the already dilapidated main office of the Freital City Library had to be demolished. The foundation stone was laid on February 7, 2012 . The center was handed over to its destination on October 14, 2013, and Saxony's Prime Minister Stanislaw Tillich (CDU) also attended the opening . Federal Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière (CDU) visited the complex on August 12, 2014.

Since it opened, the center has made annual losses, most recently of 400,000 euros. Managing Director Schautz wants to make a profit by 2018. Due to the great demand in the technology park (F2), an expansion of the area to 36,000 m² is being considered. In the start-up center (F1), 46.5% of the space was let in mid-2015. In the 2015 financial year, the loss was EUR 315,000.00. From January 1, 2017, Alexander Karrei will take over management.

Companies

Companies from various industries have now settled here, e. B. Medical technology , electrical engineering , metalworking , lightweight construction but also artists and studios .

There is a canteen called Wirtschaft on the ground floor .
