Whistle is a song by the American rapper and singer Flo Rida and was released by Atlantic Records in 2012 . The song was produced by DJ Frank E and David Glass. Whistle was released as the third single from his album Wild Ones .

The text is mainly about oral sex . Flo Rida sings about telling his girlfriend to “blow his pipe” and the like (“ Show me your perfect pitch, you got it my banjo ”). He told MTV News that he kept it "mostly clean" in the song, but that it could be interpreted differently.

Music video

A music video for Whistle was first released on YouTube on May 24, 2012 . The video shows Flo Rida with some women on the Acapulco coast in Mexico, where the video was shot. The director was Marc Klasfeld.

In Germany, the song reached number two in the single charts and topped the airplay charts for two weeks . In Austria it also entered second place, but on August 10, 2012, after 11 weeks in the top 10, it had to leave it. In Switzerland, Whistle was able to reach number one in the first week. In addition, it reached number one in the USA and number two in the United Kingdom.

criticism

Common Sense Media's Stephanie Bruzzese gave the song three stars, saying it had a different sound than some of his other “booming” tracks. Robert Copsey from Digital Spy gave the song a negative review and said that it would be Flo Rida's "most original song", he only gave it two stars out of five.

The song was released on April 24, 2012 in the USA as well as in Germany , Austria and Switzerland . In the UK , Whistle was n't released until June 18, 2012.
