history

Two of the members, Charles Cave and Jack Lawrence-Brown, knew each other from school, and later they formed the band Fear of Flying with Harry McVeigh . After finishing school, the “weekend project” turned into a serious music career. They underlined their new ambitions with the new band name White Lies .

At the beginning of 2008 they had their first appearance together, which immediately attracted the interest of record labels and ultimately a record deal. At the end of May, they appeared on the renowned TV show Later with Jools Holland . Festival appearances and several tours of Great Britain and some US appearances followed.

The first single was released at the end of September 2008, the title Death , which brought them their first chart placement. In the BBC's Sound of 2009 forecast , the White Lies landed at number 2. The band's debut album To Lose My Life was released in January 2009 and immediately rose to number 1 on the UK charts.

The song Embrace was created through a collaboration with Chase & Status in 2011 .

On January 28, 2011 her new album Ritual was released in Germany. Bigger Than Us was released as the first single .

The third studio album, Big TV , was released on August 12, 2013. Like the first album, Big TV was also produced by Ed Buller. The album was mixed by Spike Stent, who has also edited records by Madonna , Oasis , Björk and Coldplay .
