Whitey Hughes

Robert James "Whitey" Hughes (born November 9, 1920 in Arkoma , Oklahoma , † July 7, 2009 in Arizona ) was an American stuntman and actor .

Life

Hughes came to California with his family in 1936 and initially worked in the food industry. Through his knowledge of horse riding and everything to do with a farm, he was employed on film projects in the mid-1940s; In 1947 he became a member of the Screen Actors Guild . He worked on countless scenes for westerns as a stuntman; Occasionally he received supporting roles in the films for which he was used. Due to its small size (1.68 m), it also often doubled women. Almost all major television western series enlisted his help.

Even after the wedding for Westerns subsided, he was kept busy; one of his last films was the blockbuster Men in Black .
