Aries (zodiac)
The zodiac sign Aries ( Greek κριός Kriós , Latin Aries ) corresponds to the first section of the zodiac from 0 ° to 30 ° ecliptical longitude from the vernal equinox .
astronomy
The sun is located in this sign on average between March 21 and April 20 . Due to the migration of the spring equinox , the zodiac sign Aries no longer corresponds to the constellation Aries . In the constellation of Aries, the sun is roughly between April 19 and May 14.
The sign of the zodiac was already part of the Babylonian - Assyrian MUL.APIN series Path of the Moon , which includes 18 astronomical constellations, there named as "rental workers" ( LU HUN.GA). The ram was first introduced into the zodiac by the Greeks.
astrology
After the Tetrabiblos by Claudius Ptolemy
As a Melothesian equivalent, the ram was assigned the head as a human body part in ancient iatroastrology , and accordingly the assigned deity was Minerva .
With Leo and Sagittarius , Aries forms the trine of the element fire and with Cancer , Libra and Capricorn the square of the tropical or cardinal signs .
presentation
The sign has been represented as a (often lying) ram since ancient times. The astrological symbol is the stylization of a ram's head (seen from the front) with the two curved horns.
The Unicode representation is U + 2648 = ♈.
