Widderstall is a district of the Merklingen municipality in the Alb-Donau district in Baden-Württemberg . The hamlet is located about three kilometers northwest of Merklingen.

history

Widderstall was on July 6, 1209 in one of Pope Innocent III. and 13 cardinals signed document mentioned for the first time. Innocent III. took the Ursberg monastery and its possessions, which also included a monastery courtyard near today's Widderstall, under protection. In the 13th century the monastery gave up the farm again.

In 1482, high authorities and courts came to the imperial city of Ulm from the Counts of Helfenstein . Widderstall had been uninhabited since the 15th century at the latest. Only from 1805 a hamlet emerged here again.
