The Widok Towers (also known as Biurowiec J44 - after the address Aleje Jerozolimskie 44 -) are a high-rise office complex under construction in Warsaw's inner city district . The building stands on one of the main hubs of Warsaw between the Aleje Jerozolimskie and Ulica Widok about 50 meters from the roundabout Rondo Dmowskiego at which the Al. Jerozolimskie crosses with Marszałkowska Street . On the opposite side of the Al. Jerozolimskie stands the Novotel Warszawa Centrum high-rise. Directly in front of the Widok Towers is the renewed in 2018 PKO Rotunda ( Rotunda ). The Warsaw Central Station with the surrounding office and hotel high-rise buildings is 600 meters away. The construction of the Widok Towers should be completed in December 2020.

history

In place of the construction site of the Widok Towers there was a 50 meter high office building from 1965 until the end of 2016. This building was built by Centrala Handlu Zagranicznego - CHZ Universal , one of the state foreign trade companies of the People's Republic of Poland . After the fall of the Wall, CHZ Universal was privatized to become the listed (1992) Universal SA . In 1999, the exchange supervisory authority suspended trading in the company's shares due to irregularities in the reporting system. As a result, the property on Al. Jerozolimskie sold to cover debt for 60 million zloty ; in 2003 Universal went bankrupt .

In the 2000s, the partially unused building served as a huge advertising space for banners . So there was outdoor advertising for car brands, telephone service providers, movies and consumer goods. In 2014, the Austrian real estate development company S + B Gruppe acquired the property at auction together with its holding company MLN Invest . In the following year, Commerz Real ( HausInvest-Fonds ) was won as an investor, the development of the property as general contractor remained with S + B Plan Bau Warsaw , a subsidiary of the S + B Group . At that time, the commissioning of Ernst Hoffmann's architectural office was planned for the design.

The building was demolished at the turn of 2016/2017. Construction work on the new office building began in September 2017. The concept comes from the architects Piotr Bujnowski and Martin Tröthan. The name of the office building also changed - from Rotunda Tower to Widok Towers . Completion is scheduled for September 2020.

architecture

The 95 meter high building (roof height) will consist of 28 upper and four lower floors. The total area will be around 28,600 square meters. Of this, 22,000 square meters will be office space and almost 4,000 square meters will be available for business people.

Around 150 parking spaces for vehicles will be created in two basement floors. The building will have 8 elevators and a 700 square meter viewing terrace. The construction company is Porr . According to the developer, the Widok Towers complex should be a publicly accessible space with lots of plants and landscape elements.
