Wienand Schruff
Wienand Schruff (* 1954 in Osnabrück ) is a German auditor . He was a board member of KPMG AG (1998–2013), chairman of the HFA of the Institut der Wirtschaftsprüfer in Deutschland e. V. (2001–2013) and honorary professor at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster and at the Humboldt University in Berlin. Since his retirement on December 31, 2018, he has been working as an auditor in his own practice.
Life
Schruff studied business administration from 1973 to 1979 at the Georg-August University in Göttingen and the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster. After graduating with a degree in business administration , he worked at the Institute for Auditing under the direction of Jörg Baetge . 1983 Schruff was treated with a dissertation on the subject influences the 7th EC Directive on the informative value of the consolidated financial statements for Dr. rer. pole. PhD . In 1984 he joined Deutsche Treuhand-Gesellschaft AG, auditing company, Düsseldorf. In 1989 he passed the auditor exam and from 1990 was authorized signatory of KPMG Deutsche Treuhand-Gesellschaft AG, auditing company, Düsseldorf. From 1998 to 2013 he was a member of the Management Board of KPMG AG. In 2011 he received the Dr. Kausch Prize from the University of St. Gallen. In 2013 he was made an honorary member of the Institute of Auditors .
He is the author of specialist publications, in particular on corporate accounting.
Schruff is married, has two daughters and lives in Berlin.

Schruff has been honorary professor for auditing at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster since 1999 and at the Humboldt University in Berlin since 2011.
He is a member of the Institut der Wirtschaftsprüfer , where he was head of the main technical committee from 2001 to 2013. Schruff has been a board member of the International Federation of Accountants since November 2013 . He was also a member of the external corporate accounting working group of the Schmalenbach Society for Business Administration . In addition, he was a technical adviser to the specialist journal Die Wirtschaftsprüfung until 2013 .
In the 2014–2018 term of office, he was a member of the board of the Wirtschaftsprüferkammer.
