Wiesław Szczepański

Wiesław Andrzej Szczepański (born June 1, 1960 in Chrośnica ) is a Polish politician and member of the Sejm in the II., III., V and VI . Electoral term, also was a former State Secretary in the Ministry of Infrastructure.

He earned a degree at the Academy of Economics in Poznan . Until its self-dissolution in 1990, Szczepański was a member of the Polska Zjednoczona Partia Robotnicza (Polish United Workers' Party - PZPR). Until the beginning of the 1990s he was, among other things, director of a company.

From 1994 to 1998 he was a city councilor in Leszno , where he held the position of deputy chairman. From 1999 to 2000 he was a member of the Sejmik of the Greater Poland Voivodeship , of which he was deputy chairman from 2002 to 2005. From 1995 he belonged to the Socjaldemokracja Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej (Social Democracy of the Republic of Poland - SdRP), later he joined the Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej (Federation of the Democratic Left - SLD). In 2004 Szczepański was elected vice-chairman of the party. In 1996 and 1997 he acquired a seat in the Sejm of II and III. Electoral term.

In October 2001 he was appointed to the post of Vice-President of the Office for Housing and Urban Development and held this position until the agency was dissolved in December 2003. From 2004 to 2005 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of Infrastructure. He later worked as an advisor to the General Director of the Polish Post.

In the 2005 parliamentary elections , he was re-elected to the Sejm after a four-year break. In the 2007 parliamentary elections , he was re-elected to the Sejm for the fourth time on the list of Lewica i Demokraci (Left and Democrats - LiD) for the Kalisz constituency with 10,579 votes . He is a member of the Sejm commissions for infrastructure and sport.

Since April 22, 2008 he has been a member of the newly established Lewica parliamentary group .
