Wiesendamm Bridge

The Wiesendammbrücke is a road bridge in Hamburg-Winterhude , which leads south of the Hamburg city park over the Goldbek Canal . The bridge is named after the Winterhuder Straße Wiesendamm . This term is derived from the older name of the area “Achtern Wischen” (= behind the meadows).

The arched bridge built from 1926 to 1927 under the Hamburg chief building director Fritz Schumacher is listed with the number 22108 in the list of monuments of the Hamburg cultural authority . The Wiesendamm bridge is 29.01 m long. It bears the bridge number 133 and the structure number 2426 099.

The Wiesendammbrücke is clad with red clinker . Your railing and the bridge piers are decorated with clinker ceramics. The last bridge test took place in 2013.
