Wietzesiedlung

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Wietzesiedlung describes the three cross-community settlement areas Bissendorf-Wietze , Wennebostel-Wietze and Kleinburgwedel-Wietze in the Hanover region .

location

The Wietzesiedlung is located south of the Hanover-Nord motorway triangle on the L383 and the Wietze-Aue road. The southern and western parts are Bissendorf-Wietze, the eastern Wennebostel-Wietze and the northern Kleinburgwedel-Wietze.

history

The Wietzesiedlung came into being towards the end of the Second World War , when the residents of Hanover built houses in the forest to protect them from bombs. From 1945 the area was converted from a weekend and inn area to a residential area. The Wietze , which runs through the settlements today, was straightened at the end of the 1950s to prevent flooding. For the construction of the A352 to the west, the Natelsheidesee was dredged in the 1960s and is now a popular bathing lake. At the same time, a supply infrastructure was set up, with which the residents were connected to the water network, for example. Electricity lines followed in 1978 and natural gas lines in 1987.

In 1947 the Wietze community was founded, which works across communities for the needs of the residents of the Wietzesiedlung.

From a municipal point of view, the Wietzesiedlung has always been divided. While the Bissendorf-Wietze part belonged to the former municipality of Bissendorf , Wennebostel-Wietze was part of the municipality of Wennebostel and Kleinburgwedel-Wietze was part of the municipality of Kleinburgwedel . During the administrative reform in 1974, the three previously independent municipalities in the Burgdorf district were re-incorporated. While Bissendorf and Wennebostel fell to the municipality of Wedemark , Kleinburgwedel became part of the town of Burgwedel . The Wedemärker parts were still separated as districts. Thus, the Wietzesiedlung, which had previously belonged to three different communities, was now in three different districts of a community and a city. After years of efforts, the Wedemärker parts were finally separated from their districts in 2011 and merged into the new district of Bissendorf-Wietze . Today only the Kleinburgwedel-Wietze settlement, which has only two streets, does not belong to Wedemark.
