Wild Horse Valley AVA (recognized since November 30, 1988) is a wine-growing region in the US state of California and is part of the national Napa Valley AVA . The vineyards are spread over the administrative districts of Napa County and Solano County . The close proximity to the bay of San Pablo results in a comparatively cool climate and thus enables the cultivation of the early-ripening grape variety Pinot Noir, although the average duration of sunshine is very high.

Wineries

Since only 40 hectares are planted with vines, there is only one winery in the Wild Horse Valley AVA , the Heron Lake Winery.
