action
Rose-Lynn, a young woman from Glasgow, Scotland, is a mother of two and is released from prison. Her big wish is to make a career as a country singer in Nashville. After her release, she works as a cleaning lady in the rich Susannah's house and neglects her two children. When Susannah's children become aware of Rose-Lynn's talent, Susannah begins to promote them. Rose-Lynn is invited on his show by Bob Harris, the BBC's country expert. When Susannah finally organizes a garden party at which Rose-Lynn plays and donations are to be collected for her, Susannah's husband learns of Rose-Lynn's criminal past, so the party is canceled.
Rose-Lynn then receives the money for the flight to Nashville from her mother. When Rose-Lynn arrives in Nashville, she realizes that she is not up to the professional music business there and decides to continue living in Glasgow.
criticism
"[...] the story of a country singer who got on the wrong track captivates with anarchy, sincerity and a masterful leading actress."
“Nonetheless,» WILD ROSE «inspires both as a music film with a great soundtrack and as a carefully watched family film in the best British» Kitchen Sink «tradition. In addition, the film convincingly argues that country is more than just an American style of music. "
