Ashley McBryde
Ashley McBryde (born July 29, 1983 in Waldron , Arkansas ) is an American country singer and songwriter .
Musical career
Ashley McBryde was born in Waldron , Arkansas in 1983 . She played her father's guitar as a teenager and released her first self-released album after graduating from Arkansas State University in 2006. In 2007, she moved to Nashville to become a country singer. She won the Colgate Country Showdowns in 2009 and 2010 and released a second self-released album in 2011, after which she toured the southern United States with various musicians and played for shows by well-known country musicians such as Willie Nelson , Chris Stapleton , Chris Cagle and Hank Williams, Jr. released her EP Jalopies & Expensive Guitars in 2016 , after which she was discovered by singer Eric Church and invited to sing the song Bible and a .44 on stage with him at a concert .
In 2017 McBryde released the single A Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega on Warner Music Nashville, which entered the US country charts. From The New York Times the song was named as one of the 54 best songs of the year 2017 and for the Rolling Stone it was one of the top 25 Best Country Songs of the year. The album Girl Going Nowhere followed in 2018, which includes A Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega as well as the later singles Radioland , One Night Standards and the theme song Girl Going Nowhere . The album was at the Grammy Awards in 2019 as best country album nominated for the Grammy Awards in 2020 was followed by a nomination for the title song as best country solo performance and as best country song . In addition, she was named "New Artist of the Year" at the Country Music Association Awards in 2019 .
