Héctor Mario Pérez Villareal

Héctor Mario Pérez Villareal (born February 20, 1970 in Monterrey ) is a Mexican clergyman and appointed Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Mexico City .

Life

Héctor Mario Pérez Villareal began training as a chartered accountant and entered the seminary of the Archdiocese of Monterrey in 1992 , where he studied philosophy. He completed his theological studies from 1995 at the Pontifical University of Mexico , where he obtained a degree in dogmatics . He received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Monterrey on January 9, 1999 .

In addition to pastoral care, he worked as a youth pastor and prefect as well as a study coordinator at the seminary. After further studies, he received his doctorate from the Pontifical Gregorian University . At times he was episcopal vicar and since 2018 a member of the health commission for the priests of the archdiocese. He worked in the archbishopric's asset management and taught ecclesiology at the seminary. He was also the chaplain of several sister convents.

On 25 January 2020 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Bennefa and auxiliary bishop in Mexico City. The Archbishop of Mexico City, Carlos Cardinal Aguiar Retes , donated him and the auxiliary bishops Luis Pérez Raygosa and Francisco Daniel Rivera Sánchez MSpS, who were appointed with him, episcopal ordination on March 19 of the same year . The consecration service in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City was largely closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic . After his ordination, Cardinal Aguiar Retes appointed him Episcopal Vicar for the Laity.
